Our Perception of Tourism

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting different results.

Albert Einstein

Unfortunately, our world is facing global warming problem due to our thinking that our natural resources are limitless, and our rough usage of them. The use of fossil fuel filled with of avarice; the destruction of forests, the dangers that technological processes cause the ecosystem, the ravaging of natural life in person, all this means climate change in the whole World.

The climate changes also cause changes in tourism and its role in the world. There is an alienation from the classical tourism concept towards seeking for alternative ways of tourism. The ecotourism which is a quite new concept is first suggested in 1992 at Rio de Janeiro Earth Summit. Ecotourism, as defined in this summit, is embraced as “an approach or attitude assuring the sustainability of the natural sources of the earth, and upholding the economic development of local people as well, and protecting and watching for their social and cultural integrity.”

As Eget Vakfı, we act with the principle of sustainability in our all initiatives. We plan especially with the focus on rural tourism and agritourism fields and not limited in the tourism facility offering only accommodation areas but instead setting up agricultural, husbandry and tourism integrated premises that span all three fields.

Together with the lavender honey production, api-air a branch of apitherapy [Healing from the Bee Hive] is also one of the projects that we are going to actualise. In order to create circulating capital to be able to give more scholarships and to ensure the foundation survive for long years, EGET focuses on the subjects of geriatrics, ecological agriculture, and tourism. With these practices, as being a nonprofit organisation respectful to ecology and the universe, we aim to inspire many institutions, producing projects that will set an example not just to Turkey but to the World.
